President

David Sharp
David combined his life-long interest in horticulture and business with his background in drainage and soil erosion to create the ideal landscape construction company. This inspiration is now DSLD Land Management Company, Inc., a full service design/build landscape

Upon graduation from high school David studied Geotechnical Engineering at the Ohio State University. During his studies at OSU, he participated in a work-study program, which led him to Evanston, Wyoming to work at a gasification plant as a QC Engineer with Cooper and Clark Engineering and later spent two years working back and forth from Washington D.C. to Columbus, Ohio while he was employed at CTL Engineering. While a student at OSU David was offered and accepted a scholarship to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. David graduated from Samford University with a degree in Business Administration and a full-time position with Ground Engineering Company.

Soon after graduating David became interested in applying his background in Geotechnical Engineering and Business Administration to a new course of study in Ornamental Horticulture. After returning to school and obtaining the requisite education in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design, David attained his state license (LD) Landscape Design, (SLP) Horticulture, (OTPC) Ornamental Turf Pest Control.

Over the years David has been a speaker at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Public Library’s Lecture Series, and at various garden clubs throughout the Birmingham area. In addition to learning from the environment around him, David has developed a more thorough understanding of various cultural landscape design applications from his travels throughout Europe and Asia visiting gardens and landscapes in over 20 countries.

David firmly believes in the value of family. Not only does he enjoy his family, but also works to improve the lives of families with at risk children. David sits on two National BOD’s where he volunteers on behalf of foster and adopted children across the country.

VP of Operations

/Civil Engineer

Zach Sharp
Zach has grown up learning the family business from the ground up. Upon graduating high school, Zach received the Millennium scholarship to Troy University where he studied Biomedical Science for two years. After deciding that the family business is where his passion lies, he transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Zach has been studying for several industry wide certification exams, which recently paid off as he became a State Licensed Landscape Designer. Zach looks forward to acquiring the Municipal and Utility General Contractors License in 2021.

CFO

Mark Richenderfer
Mark has joined DSLD Land Management as CFO.  He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Villanova University, an MBA in Finance from Drexel University and a Master Certificate in Six Sigma and Lean from Villanova University.  Mark will be responsible for the Finance and Accounting group. He will also be working with the Management team on Strategic Planning.  In his free time he enjoys playing golf and traveling with his family.  Mark and his wife, Valerie, reside in Birmingham with their two children.

 

 

Professional Engineer

Christopher T. Latham P.E.
Chris graduated from the University of Alabama in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and has held his Professional Engineering License in Alabama since 2004. He has over 25 years of experience in construction and design, with emphasis on site work, Chris has a passion for practical and functional project design and management. Chris grew up in Tuscaloosa and has been involved with a wide variety of projects all over the state of Alabama. Some of his proudest accomplishments are his involvement with design and construction of the Tuscaloosa’s Warrior Riverwalk and Shelby Park. He is also the Engineer-of-Record for the North End Zone Plaza of Bryant-Denny Stadium.

When away from work, Chris loves to spend time in activities with his three sons and he enjoys playing golf and rock climbing.

Civil Engineer

Jason Ford
Jason manages the collection and processing of all survey information needed for DSLD projects. He holds an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science-Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Relocated from northern Illinois, Jason has been in the construction/civil engineering field for 25 years working in surveying, project management, and design.

Austin Tatum
He started his career at DSLD as an intern where he was exposed to every facet of the companies many service offerings and came on full time after completing his degree. In 2019 he graduated Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Through his time at DSLD, Austin has also become a state licensed landscape designer, a licensed residential home builder and a licensed general contractor.

Stephen Pyc
Stephen is DSLD’s senior landscape designer. Stephen graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and has since been designing and providing oversight on landscape projects throughout the Southeast. He has proven himself to be a great asset to DSLD’s service-oriented team. His expertise allows him to serve in all facets of the business.

Andy Vaughan
Andy is from Auburn, Alabama and he has spent his last four years completing his degree in Landscape Architecture at Mississippi State University. Andy spent the summer of 2020 as an intern with DSLD and is also a licensed landscape designer in the state of Alabama

Laws Anderson
​He grew up in Nashville Tennessee and graduated from Mississippi State University in the 2021 with a bachelors degree in landscape architecture. In his free time he enjoys spending time being outside and fishing. 

Information Technology Manager

 Cole Sharp
Growing up alongside his father, Cole Sharp learned the family business from the ground up. Sharp attended Jefferson State Community College, where he took horticulture courses together with computer info systems to enhance his knowledge of the family business. Today, Cole is fully engaged in the day-to-day operations of DSLD from sales to installation, as well as providing technical support for the company. Cole resides in Birmingham with his wife Amy and son’s, Milo and Jack. His spare time is spent in the woods driving his ATV machine and playing soccer.

CAD

Ricky Geiger

Ricky works in our I.T. department and plays an integral role in the design team. He provides topographical maps, site plans and pilots our Mavic pro 2 drone. Ricky is also a  CAD operator and utilizes drone deploy and civil 3D to integrate information for our LA’s and Engineers. In Ricky’s free time he enjoys playing video games and staying active through soccer and the gym.

George Hall

I am a Sr. CAD Operator for DSLD Land Management Company where I design, layout and complete site plans, easements and permit drawings. I also prepare construction drawings for site, storm, sanitary and water improvements for all residential and commercial projects.
I am a graduate of The Ohio Northern University with a BS degree in Industrial Technology. I enjoy being a father and husband, and spend my time away from work enjoying DIY projects.

Mary Katherine Keough
Mary Katherine graduated form Mississippi State University with a degree in Horticulture and a minor in Marketing. After moving away from her hometown, Memphis, TN, Mary Katherine is excited to build her career with DSLD Land Management. In her free time, she loves to spend time exploring the new city with her golden retriever.

Noelle Howell

DSLD’s Client Relationship Manager, Noelle Howell, is a graduate of the University of Virginia. Noelle was a Naval Officer and has also volunteered as a mentor for young women and as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL). In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, kayaking at Oak Mountain State Park and hiking new places with her husband, Martin.

Kelly Parrish
Kelly attented Miami of Ohio University and graduated with a degree in graphic design. She is the resident creative and artistic advertising manager. She lives in Highland Lakes with her husband Brian and their four children.

Aubrey Corbitt
Aubrey grew up in Florida and attended Jacksonville University where she studied accounting and graduated her BS degree. Since working with DSLD she has acquired her (LD) Alabama Landscape Design license. Aubrey works in the accounting department where she brightens everyone’s day.

Amy Sharp
Amy joined the DSLD team as an office assistant. She loves being a part of the family-owned business and lending her organizational skills to keep the business running smoothly. “I love the team mentality that David has integrated into everyday office work,” she said. “When you are working toward a common goal, it gives purpose and life to the task at hand. Also, having been in business for over 30 years and having established themselves as leaders in the land management and landscape design community, it’s inspiring to see what has already been accomplished and leaves me motivated to find ways to leave my footprint and invest in such an inspiring company.”

Angel Sharp
Angel graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelors of Science degree. She is recently married and likes to spend time with her dog, Asher, in her free time.

Helen Sharp
Helen is the backbone of DSLD keeping her husband David, and three sons Cole, Zachary, and Miles pointed in the right direction. She has worked as a homemaker raising their three sons as well as their daughter Danielle McKenzie. Helen has worked side by side with her husband David since 1994, in every facet of the company’s business. Today Helen enjoys helping out at the AquaScapes retail store on Hwy 280.

Riley Krohn
Riley graduated from The University of South Florida in 2018 with a degree in marine biology. While studying, he worked as a research assistant where he studied various ecosystems along Florida’s gulf coast. After graduating, Riley became a biologist at The Florida Aquarium and has recently been brought on as the new aqua culture and fisheries expert.

Brett Bartlett

Brett grew up in Wisconsin and is married with two great kids. He started working with his father at an early age in the pool and construction business. He went on to start his own swimming pool and tile company at the age of 20, which he ran for the last 25 plus years. He enjoys working at DSLD and is responsible for swimming pool construction. His passion is creating amazing outdoor spaces and making sure the client’s dreams come to fruition.

Miles Sharp
Growing up alongside his father Miles has learned the family business from the ground up. Since 2016 Miles has worked in the excavation/construction side of the business. Miles is a State Licensed Landscape Designer and a Construction Superintendent in the residential landscape division.
